Nigerian singer and songwriter, Slimcase, reveals via his Instagram account that hip hop, and rap music is dead in Nigeria.

According to the Nigerian afrobeat legend, record labels are no longer interested in signing rappers.

This sounds true because we observe that recently, 2 Nigerian rappers, Olamide and Phyno have switched to Afro-Pop, or afrobeats music.

If this is true then it means, upcoming musicians in Nigeria who are in the hip hop or rap genre; might just be wasting their time.
