On this post you will get to read our daily devotional from God’s word for Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
Most times in our daily lives, our busy schedule causes us to stay apart from our creator; but if we can only make it a point of duty of rising into a devotion with God every morning, I believe it will be worth it.
The scriptural text for our daily devotional from God’s word today Tuesday, May 10, 2022, is taken from (Romans 3:20, 23)
As it is written: “there is none righteous, no, not one. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.(Romans 3:20, 23)
The question that arises from the above bible verse is, do we have a righteous man on earth?
To answer this question, let’s see several scriptural verses that reveals to us that there are righteous people on earth.
This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. (Genesis 6:9)
Then Joseph her husband being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. (Mathew 1:19)
And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, (Luke 2:25)
“that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. (Mathew 23:35).
And delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked. (2 Peter 2:7).
And the scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” (James 2:21).
Now let’s study the nest passage to see the kind of righteousness the preacher was referring to here.
Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others; “two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. ‘the Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men – extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.
‘I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to the heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ “I tell you this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. (Luke 18:9-14)
And so the scripture above helps us to understand that so long as anyone on earth practices righteousness, they are righteous.
Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.(1 John 3:7)
