On this post you will get to read our daily devotional for today from God’s word for Monday April 18, 2022.

Most times in our daily lives, our busy schedule causes us to stay apart from our creator. But if we can only make it a point of duty of rising into a devotion with God every morning; I believe it will be worth it.

The scriptural text for our daily devotional from God’s word today Monday April 18, 2022; is taken from Genesis 3:2

Scriptural text:

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Genesis 3:6

It was after the deceits of the devil that the woman saw that the fruit was pleasing to the eyes.

And the worst of it all, she gave some to her husband who could not resist eating it.

Reading the whole context of this scripture in Genesis 3, we see how Eve and the serpent had a convesation.

When the serpent came to her, he said “has God told you not to eat of the fruit in the middle of the garden’.

And Eve responded with a “yes”, and went further to tell the serpent the consequence of eating the fruit “for God said in the day you eat it you shall die”.

Now the serpent told Eve that she wont die, instead it is her eyes that will be opened to understand what is good and evil.

He even stated that God does not want Eve and her husband to have that knowledge.

But after Eve fell into the devils trap, she realized later that he was the one lying instead of God.

And it is because of Eve’s action that the whole human race is suffering till date.
