Our daily bible verse and prayer for Sunday 31 October 2021 will be taken from the book of (Ezekiel 36:27) and it says:

Bible Verse:

“I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you will keep my judgments and do them.

(Ezekiel 36:27)

Throughout the history of the children of Israel, they have failed so much in struggling to keep God’s commandments by human power.

Series of sacrifices, which played the part of atonement; accompanied the practices of the Jewish religion.

This they did in the hope of appeasing God and moving Him to forgive them of their sins.

But what was always certain was that the Jewish worshippers; after performing those sacrifices will still go back to their sinfiul ways, knowing that next year they will return again for yet another sacrifice.

And because of this, the Jews were unable to attain any level of holiness (Hebrews 9).

For that reason, God had other plans to make human beings attain righteousness. And that was the gift of the Holy Spirit.

This is why Peter said in Acts 2:38-39 that those who wants to follow Christ should repent and be baptized in order to receive the Holy Spirit that will always prevent them from sinning against God.

Prayer point.

So today, we are going to pray God to pour our=t His Spirit on us as He promised severally in the scriptures.

And as seen in our bible verse for today, let the Holy Spirit always prevent us from sinning against Him.

Prayer.

Father in heaven, fulfill your promise of giving us the Holy Spirit in my life today to keep me away from going against your laws and commands.

We make our prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen.
