Our daily bible verse and prayer for Friday 22 October 2021 will be taken from the book of Mathew 6:14 and it says:

Bible Verse:

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Mathew 6:14

One thing most of us don’t always know about forgivess is that, if we don’t forgive people of the wrongs they do to us, there is no way that God will ever forgive us the wrongs we’ve done against Him.

And I hope we all know the importance of forgiveness; or in other words, why we need God’s forgiveness so much.

Because the Bible helps us to understand in the book of Isaiah 59:1 that; sin prevents God from listening to as well as reaching out to save mankind.

And of course, we pray to God everyday in the hope that he would hear and answer our request.

But if unforgiveness is that thing that prevents God from hearing us, then what’s the use to suffer praying in the first place.

In the Bible, when Jesus was asked how many times we should forgive people in one day; He replied: seventy times seven times (Mathew 18:22).

And when you add that up, you have 490 times to forgive a single human being in one day.

I don’t think there is the possibility of someone offending us that number of times in a single day.

Prayer point.

Today, we are going to pray God to give us the grace that will enable us forgive people the wrongs they have done to us.

Prayer.

Dear merciful Father, I acknowledge those times I have been unable to forgive people for the wrongs they keep doing to me.

And since you have reminded me in your word today that; if I don’t forgive these kinds, there is no way you are ever going to forgive me for the wrongs I have also done to you.

And for that reason, I solemnly forgive everyone for all the wrongs they have done to me.

And I believe I have also gotten your forgiveness as well as I end my prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.
